Hey everyone! My name is Sanjay Pappu. I’m 16 years old living in Massachusetts, and I love to sing!


I started learning Carnatic vocal music in the Greater Boston area with Smt. Tara Anand 10 years ago, and over time it became something I genuinely cared a lot about. Her teaching was definitely strict, but also really encouraging, and that balance helped me grow a lot as a singer. She pushed me to pay attention to the small details and really understand what I was singing instead of just memorizing notes. The more I learned, the more I started appreciating how much depth and nuance Carnatic music has. It slowly became something I looked forward to and wanted to keep improving in.


A big reason I created Carnatic By Sanjay is because I know Carnatic music can feel unfamiliar or even intimidating at first, and I want to help make it feel more approachable for other people so they can build that same appreciation for it over time.
